Weaning Food |

Weaning food is introduced after 4 moth because mother milk's alone cannot provide all energy and protein required by child for adequate growth. It is necessary to give supplement food to your child .It is beneficial to give iron supplement or iron containing food supplement after age of 5 to 6 months to prevent iron deficiency anemia.

So for this weaning food is
introduced to child .Weaning means give infant to
nourishment other than mothers milk. This period is
difficult for child because other food supplement is
not like by child in quality as well as quantity.
Weaning food is easily prepared at home. It should be
prepared clean and hygienic condition. So that it
should be not a source of infection. It is easily
digestible, physiologically suitable.
Food contain
vegetable protein and it should be nutritionally
well balanced. The cereal diet do not have enough
energy and protein. So that milk, dark green
vegetables and khichri, kanji prepared from rice (3
part) legum (1 part), mashed bananas, suji.
From eight or nine month of age the child should be
eat most of foods cooked in house for adult.
Delayed
weaning food and dependence on mothers milk as a
food result in iron deficiency anemia. Soup or purses
of dark green vegetables are good source of iron.
