Now a day condom are used for protection against
sexually transmitted disease and also to postpone or
space birth ,
condoms are made of latex sheath or skin .This
methods is suitable for those couples who want to
space their families and who have problem to use
oral contraceptive or ICUD. Also this methods are
more suitable for those couple who have infrequent
sexual intercourse. It have no side effect, very
useful where citalact is irregular, cheaper. The
main disadvantage is it may accidentally be torn
during coitus, it must be disposed after one coital
act, and it have inadequate sexual pleasure.
Diaphragm is not popular method of contraception.
Diaphragm is an intra-vaginal device it is made of
rubber or spring ring at the margin. To insert
Diaphragm it requires a doctor or medical personnel.
This device is introduced up to 3 hours before
intercourse and 6hourse after the last coital act.
The main drawback of this method is it requires
doctor to measure the size required. For insertion
training is required.
Vaginal contraception such as cream or jelly is is
introduced high in vagina with the help of
applicator. Other contraceptive such as foam tablet
are introduced high in vagina at least 5 minutes
before intercourse.
B.
in natural contraception coitus interrupts and
rhythm method is applied. Rhythm method is based on
fertile period of cycle and to abstain from sexual
intercourse during that period. In this method the
first unsafe days are calculated by subtracting 20
days from the length of shortest cycle and last unsafe
days by deducing 10 days from longest cycle.
The main drawback of this period is difficult to
calculate the safe period, and compulsory abstinence
from sexual act during certain period. This method is
not applicable during lactation .
Coitus interrupts is widely used method. The main
precaution is that withdrwal of penis shortly
before ejculation. This method required itself
control of man ,chance of pregnancy is more
