Temporary method:-
C. ICUD: Intrauterine Contraception Device
Intrauterine contraceptive device is old method
of contraception. The main device are commonly use
for these purpose are
. CUT 200
. Multiload 250
. Progestasert
. Lippes Loop
Copper T 200 is mostly used contraceptive device.
It is made of surface area of fine copper wire wound
round the vertical stem of the device. T he device
is supplied inside a sterilized sealed packed. It is
removed after 3 years, CUT disturbed free of cost
through government channel. Contraceptive protection
after taking trouble only once during insertion. It
have adverse local reaction menstrual abnormalities
or pelvic pain. When CUT is used it have ectopic
pregnancy .After removal fertility is easy.
Indication of removal of ICUD are excessive utring
bleeding, flaring up pelvic infection, utrine
perforation, pregnancy, missing thread etc.
CUT is introduced by withdrawal technique, Lippes
loop by 'push out' and multiload is just pushed
through technique.
By using ICUD chances of ectopic pregnancy is
increased. |
Oral Contraceptive (Pills):-
The most common method used is combined oral
steriodal contraceptive. The pills are started from
5 days of menstrual cycle. In case of lactation ,it
is to be withheld from 6 months. The adverse effect
of these pills are nausea, vomiting, headache,
weight gain. In case of some menstrual abnormalities
such as bleeding .It have initial check up and
periodic supervision, limitation, limitation in its
use. It requires education and motivation, highly
effective, good cycle control.

Permanent Method:-
Permanent Contraception means surgical method where
reproductive function of an individual male or
female is purposefully permanently destroyed.
In male it is said to vasectomy where segment of vas
deferens of both the sides are reselected and the
cut ends are ligated. It is simple, with no
complication effective method. The only drawback is
additional contraceptive protection is needed for
about 2-3 months after operation.
The most common method used in women for family
planning purpose is occlusion of the fallopian tubs.
Most of couples accept the method after having
desired number of children. The operation done after
3 month after delivery or abortion. The ideal time
of operation is following the menstrual period. In
most of times sterilization is performed along with
termination of pregnancy.
