Bowel Movement (Artificial
feeding):
The baby who feed on cow milk tend to be constipated
.in such case give extra water ,sugar ,glucose or
orange juice in between the feed. Feces of
breast-feed babies are soft and yellow. During first
few week stool may be passed after each feed. If
child may pass once a week ,it is normal
Common feeding problem in infants and children's:
In some cases mother is fail to lactation .It is
often due to poor motivation of mother ,anxiety
,worry, lack of confidence in her ability to breast
feed. Malnourished mother and those suffering from
illness may not produce enough milk for baby.
If mother nipples are retracted then baby may not
be able to suck at the breast. The infant's gums
bite on the nipple rather than press on the areola
for obtaining milk, the nipples gets injured and
cracked. If the mother has retracted nipples ,the
baby may be fed on breast then mother use shields
for feeding. Retraction of nipples can be prevented
by antenatal care and gental manipulation of
nipples with fingers to prevent retraction.
Regarding Cow's milk:
When your child start eating solid food, you may
not able to decide when you should switch from
breast milk or formula to cow milk. The doctor's
does not recommend cow milk before age of 9 months.
Cow's milk does not contain very much iron
and it's therefore more difficult for your baby to
absorb it, i.e. the main reason why babies shouldn't be on cow's
milk too early is the worry of iron deficiency
or anemia. However, by waiting at least nine months
before giving them milk, iron deficiency should no
longer be a concern.
If your baby is on breastfeeding, the longer you can keep
your baby on breast milk, the better. Breast feeding
means keep your baby more healthy and also it
protect from diseases.
If you give your baby formula feeding, to bring
cow's milk into your child's diet too early may be
overwhelming since formula can be very expensive.
When you decide to give cow's milk to your baby then
,it's whole milk so they're getting the benefits of
that extra fat that isn't found in skim or even 2%
milk. Some babies does like the switch from breast
milk or
formula to cow's milk, so better way to prepare mix
cow milk
half and half water until he accepts the new taste.
By keeping your babies best interests in mind, first
things that you'll be confident about the
decision you make, whether you start giving them
milk at 9 months or 12 months, or anywhere in
between. Its depends upon your child he/she take it
regularly or create some problem after giving
it.
However, if you choose to do it earlier (in between
9 and 12 months) you may want to introduce it
gradually .
When you 'll decide to switch off to cow milk
first things to decide is whether you give
milk by bottle or any other utensils. Now a day
various bottle and reusable Bottle Nipple are
available in market. Reusable bottle can reduce
incidents of painful gas after feeding. It's nipple with
the patented anti-vacuum valve. As baby feeds, the
anti-vacuum valve of the nipple allows
air to flow into the bottle, replacing the milk at a
rate baby controls by natural reflex.
This natural reflex reduces air ingestion and
painful gas. So that baby is happier baby with fewer
incidents of discomfort after feeding. Sterilizer
bottles which sterilize themselves in 90 seconds in
the microwave.
