  • First  always clean the baby's face. Wash cloth in warm water and squeeze out excess water.

  • Don't use soap on face. Wipe babies eyes from the inside corner to the outside. Use cotton to clean eyes  in starting month.

  • Also with help of water wipe babies  ears over and behind each year with the washcloth.

  • Wash babies with warm water in a tub. Lower him into the tub with his head supported on your arm and your hand holding her firmly around her shoulder and upper arm.

  • Carefully  wash her bottom from front to back. Hold baby firmly with both hands while lifting baby out of the water as she will be slippery.

  • Hold baby head in one hand and supporting the back along your forearm like a football, pour water gently from the tub on the head and do not splash water on her face.

  • Wash the hair using circular movements with a little soap or shampoo.
Pat his head dry with a fresh towel.

For bathing you may need following things:

  • Cooled boiled water OR baby  wipes
  • New nappy
  • Changing mat
  • Towel
  • Soap
  • Petroleum Jelly
  • Baby Powder
When you start bathing make sure that everything you need within easy reach. Never leave baby unattended especially if positioned on a  raised surface. Baby knows when you are not protected by its nappy.  Have a towel ready for those little unexpected  surprises! Apply  petroleum jelly, apply it all around your baby's bottom and genitals.
